Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor, most famous as a star of the popular TV show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. In college, he began to pursue a passion for acting. At his school, the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. The characters he has played on television have gained him a lot of attention. There is no doubt that his characters have been able to capture the attention of viewers by playing characters who are on either sides of the legal system. His first project was a television show, however, he was later as a detective with the NYPD. In recognition of his performance on the small screen, he's been up for nomination numerous times for the prestigious Emmy Awards. He is known for his blue piercing eyes, which have become an iconic feature and have helped to create a charismatic character for tough roles. He was listed on People's list of Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
